Cambodia was experiencing tragedies after tragedies during the last several decades since the 1970s, starting with the revolution of General Lon Nol, the killing fields of Pol Pot, the 10 years war of liberation against the Vietnamese occupation, and the hardship of the current Cambodian People Party rule.
Many fear the country is moving toward an uncertain future and may follow the path of Kampuchea Krom. The country is ruled by a democratic regime that is not in the standard norms, using demagogy, forces, nepotism and corruption to survive.
There is a proverb that says: Democracy Dies in Darkness. ICC is set to get ideas and concepts to provide the light to illuminate against darkness so that true democracy will survive for the good of Cambodia and the Cambodian people.
